We watched a wonderful Malaysia movie! 『TALENTIME』 素晴らしい映画を見ました！『タレンタイム〜優しい歌』

昨日、旦那さんとマレーシアの映画を見に行ったのですが、その映画がとても素晴らしかったので紹介させてください。

『タレンタイム〜優しい歌』という作品です。マレーシア人の女性映画監督、故ヤスミン・アフマド監督の作品です。

ヤスミン監督は自身の母国であるマレーシアの、多民族国家ならではの問題や人間関係、宗教の違い、恋愛事情などを盛り込んだ作品を撮られ、映画の中の言語もマレー語、タミル語、英語、中国語など複数使われています。ヤスミン監督は大変多くの人々の支持を集めながらも５１歳という若さで他界してしまいました。

この作品は長編映画としての遺作ということです。

たまたまマレーシア料理店に行った時に、ちょうど大阪で再上映をやっている素晴らしい映画があると紹介していただいて、気になったので見に行ってみたのです。

そうしたら大変素晴らしくて、夫婦共々涙しました。

日本ではまた再上映がされない限りなかなか見る機会はないかもしれませんが、もしこの監督の映画の再上映を観るチャンスがあれば、ぜひ観ていただきたいです。他の作品はまだ観たことはないのですが、きっと同じく素晴らしいと思います。

この映画は、マレーシアの様々な人種の人たちが通う高校でいこなわれることになった音楽コンクールの話です。マレーシア人である旦那さんにしか理解できないマレーシアならではのポイントもいくつかあったようですが、それが分からなくても十分素晴らしさは伝わってきます。

音楽もとても素敵で、ずっと心に残る作品です。

My husband and I watched a wonderful Malaysian movie yesterday, so I’d like to introduce you the movie.

The movie is 『TALENTIME』.

This movie is made by a Malaysian movie director, YASMIN AHMAD.

YASMIN made films about Malaysia which is her hometown. Her films are included problems of humanity, religion, love…as a multiracial nation. She uses some kinds of languages like Malay, Tamil, English and Chinese in her film which is just like a daily life in Malaysia. A lot of fans love her heartwarming films. However, YASMIN passed away in 2009, she was just 51 years old.

This movie is her last long film.

When we went to a Malaysian restaurant in Osaka, the owner’s wife introduced this film to us because the movie is shown in Osaka at that time. So we decided to go to watch the film and IT WAS JUST WONDERFUL.

Both of us cried because of the heartwarming story and beautiful music.

We don’t have many chances to watch Malaysian movie in Japan, but if you have a chance to watch YASMIN’s movie in Japan, PLEASE watch it. I have never watched other YASMIN’S films but I’m sure they must be wonderful.

This story is about “TALENTIME” which is a competition of music in high school in Malaysia where different races students and teachers are belonged. My husband said there are some points which only Malaysian people can feel, but we can really enjoy the film except these points.

The music directed by Pete Teo is very beautiful.

This film will stay in my heart forever.
